Middle School

Holy Trinity’s Middle School serves our 6th, 7th and 8th graders. The Middle School program features departmentalized classes to acclimate students as they transition from the elementary grades into high school. A highly credentialed Middle School staff teaches English, Literature, Math, Science, History, and Religion as core classes. Physical Education, Health, Art, Music,(band, choir, or general music), Technology are integrated into the program, with students changing classes for seven periods per day. Besides the core curriculum, the Middle School faculty / staff is dedicated to developing knowledge, critical thinking, and organizational skills. Technology is utilized throughout the Middle School with, Promethean electronic boards, projectors, digital media, and access to the school computer lab.

Middle School students have a high participation rate in extra-curricular activities. Most students participate in the sports programs during the school year. Other activities such as Student Council, Altar Servers, provide opportunities for leadership, learning and fun.

Other leadership opportunities include lectors, song leaders and musicians at our weekly liturgies. Middle school students have little buddies in kindergarten and third grade. Students provide service as greeters during Open Houses, school prayer leaders and student announcers.

Highlights of the Middle School experience include the annual eighth grade play, 7th and 8th grade trip to Wolf Ridge, Confirmation, and a beautiful graduation Mass.

Graduates of Holy Trinity attend Cretin-Derham Hall, St. Thomas Academy, Visitation, St. Agnes, South St. Paul, and Park of Cottage Grove to name a few. Many of our graduates are able to place in advanced and honors classes and are regularly named on area high school honor rolls.

One of the new trends to facilitate communication between parents and teachers is providing parents instantaneous access to grading information. Holy Trinity is now proud to offer this tool to all our middle school families. This online program is called Educate and allows parents to see information such as daily assignment grades, missing assignments, test scores and comments. If you have any questions please contact your student’s teachers or Mrs. Forbis at Kforbis@holytrinityssp.org. To access the Educate applications please click here.
