At Holy Trinity, we believe in serving not only quality food but also healthy and flavorful meals that our students are sure to love! All of our meals are prepared in-house! With the help of the USDA and Minnesota’s Agricultural Farm to School Grant, our lunch program can source foods from local farms around the twin cities and the state of Minnesota year-round.
Last year, thanks to the USDA Agricultural Equipment Grant, we were able to add a Grab-n-Go Milk cooler in our cafeteria! We also decided to add some healthy alternative A la Carte items in this cooler daily that students can purchase at an additional cost.
Families are welcome to join students for lunch. You may eat what our cafeteria offers on this day, grab some healthy options from our Grab-n-Go selections, or bring lunch from home.

Lunch Program Changes:
As of July 1st, 2023 Governor Waltz's Free School Meals for Kids program went into effect (this does not include Preschool students). Students in grades K-8 can eat breakfast and lunch free of charge. Therefore, the following changes will go into effect starting September 1, 2024:
Families will not have to pre-order meals via MealManage.
There will be enough meals for all students each day.
Menus for breakfast and lunch will be sent home the second week of the month for the next month (i.e. October's menus will be sent home with students in their Friday Folders the second week in September).
Menus will also be available on our website.
Ala Carte items are charged as follows:
Milk (extra or ala carte): $0.80
Extra/Ala Carte Entree (Protein): $2.75
Extra/Ala Carte Side: $1.75
Extra/Ala Carte Roll: $.55
Fruit of the day: $.80
Preschool meals: $3.75
The new state funding covers the regular school meal, which includes a single serving of the regular meal and one milk. Extra entrée, extra milk or milk with lunch from home, a la carte, and grab-n-go items will remain the responsibility of the parent(s).
Lunch Billing:
All billing for lunches will be done through TADs again this year. Charges will be posted the first week of the following month (i.e. September charges will be billed in October) and will be due on the 25th of that month.
Allergy information:
To request that a child be exempt from certain foods, a statement from a physician is required indicating what protective steps the school should take to provide an allergy-free environment for your child.
Free and reduced lunches:
Holy Trinity participates in the Application for Educational Benefits and receives significant financial assistance based on the number of qualifying free and reduced students enrolled in our school. Applications will still be required for the free/reduced meals. This allows Holy Trinity to still apply for grants and scholarships that are based on the percentage of free/reduced students (based on federally qualified applications) attending. It also allows us to receive the federal funds for the school meals. The new state funding will cover the difference. There are several other educational benefits to Holy Trinity based on the number of approved applications.
Households that don’t qualify for the federal free/reduced program do not need to fill out the paperwork; they will be set up for the State free meal program. But if you do qualify for the free/reduced program, please plan to fill out the necessary application. Holy Trinity relies on the monies we receive annually from the need-based grants & scholarships--this helps us keep the tuition as low as possible for everyone and continue providing other services and programming throughout the school year. Applications for 2024-25 will be available after July 1 via our website.
For this reason, if you think your family may qualify, please fill out the application to help the school, regardless of whether or not you choose to utilize the assistance.
We do ask that you return your application to the school office as soon as possible. You will receive a response within five business days as to whether or not your family qualifies for free or reduced lunches.
Apply at any time during the year for free or reduced lunches for your children. You must reapply annually to see if you qualify.
If a family member becomes unemployed or your family size changes, please contact the school to file a new application. Such changes may make your child(ren) eligible.
