We made an exciting change to our lunch program and started cooking student meals in-house! We implemented a new ordering system [MealManage] for student meals and received a Minnesota Agricultural First Bite Grant for our lunch program that included a portion for upgrading kitchen equipment (help source foods from local farms). This will continue this school year!
Families are welcome to join students for lunch. You may either pre-order a meal or bring in lunch.
December Breakfast & Lunch Menu
Meal Ordering:All student meals will need to be ordered through MealManage. Ordering will need to be completed by the end of the 3rd week of the current month (i.e. October ordering is due by September 22, 2023).
If you are new to Holy Trinity you will receive a registration email no later than the second week in August. Once you register you will receive updates and notifications for when menus are posted, ordering deadlines, etc (**menus will be posted by the beginning of each month for the next month). Please make sure to list any allergies to foods your child may have.
In the event that a student forgets their lunch, an emergency lunch will be provided.
Meatless meals will be offered on Fridays during Lent.
Microwaves are not available to heat up lunches at school.
Lunch Program Changes:
As of July 1st, 2023 Governor Waltz's Free School Meals for Kids program went into effect. This means that going forward ALL students will be able to eat breakfast and lunch free of charge. Therefore, the following changes have been made starting September 1, 2023:
The new State funding covers the regular school meal, which includes a single serving of the regular meal and one milk. Extra entrée’s, extra milk or milk with lunch from home, a la carte and grab-n-go items will remain the responsibility of the parent(s).
Lunch Billing:
All billing for lunches will be done through TAD’s again this year. Charges will post the first week of the following month (i.e. September charges will be billed in October) and will be due on the 25th of that month.
Allergy information:
To request that a child be exempt from certain foods, a statement from a physician is required indicating what protective steps the school should take to provide an allergy-free environment for your child.
Free and reduced lunches:
Holy Trinity participates in the Application for Educational Benefits and receives significant financial assistance based on the number of qualifying free and reduced students enrolled in our school. Applications will still be required for the free/reduced meals. This allows Holy Trinity to still apply for grants and scholarships that are based on the percentage of free/reduced students (based on federal qualified applications) attending. It also allows us to receive the federal funds for the school meals. The new state funding will cover the difference. There are several other education benefits to Holy Trinity based on the number of approved applications.
Households which don’t qualify for the federal free/reduced program do not need to fill out the paperwork; they will be set up for the State free meal program. But if you do qualify for the free/reduced program, please plan to fill out the necessary application. Holy Trinity relies on the monies we receive annually from the need-based grants & scholarships--this helps us keep the tuition as low as possible for everyone and continue providing other services and programming throughout the school year. Applications for 2023-24 will be available after July 1 via our website.
For this reason, if you think your family may qualify, please fill out the application to help the school, regardless of whether or not you choose to utilize the assistance.
We do ask that you return your application to the school office as soon as possible. You will receive a response within five business days as to whether or not your family qualifies for free or reduced lunches.
Apply at any time during the year for free or reduced lunches for your children. You must reapply annually to see if you qualify.
If a family member becomes unemployed or your family size changes, please contact the school to file a new application. Such changes may make your child(ren) eligible.
