Mrs. Dawn Kincs

Good Day! My name is Dawn Kincs and I serve as the Principal of Holy Trinity Catholic School. I am blessed to be a part of Holy Trinity school and parish community! I am passionate about Catholic education and know how important it is to help children become strong in faith, academics, and community! My husband and I have 4 children and 3 dogs and are active members of our church, St. Mary of the Purification, the parish of Sts. Joachim and Anne in Shakopee. We know the value and commitment it takes to provide a Catholic education for your children, as we have for our children (we have 3 graduates and 1 current student of Benilde-St. Margaret's). I have my undergraduate and teaching degree from the University of MN-Duluth, my Master's in Education from the University of Minnesota, post-graduate coursework in School Leadership from St. Mary's University, and a Certificate in Differentiated Instruction from the University of St. Thomas (yes, I love going to school!). Holy Trinity Catholic School is a wonderful school community centered around our Catholic faith. We have dedicated teachers and staff and love that we are true partners with our families to ensure that the children are nurtured and supported as they grow in knowledge, in faith, and in love.

My five siblings and I were fortunate that our parents were able to send us all to Catholic elementary schools and high schools. After graduating from high school, I attended the College of St. Catherine before transferring to and graduating from St. Cloud State University with a BS in Elementary Education. I am licensed to teach kindergarten through sixth grade in all subject areas. While my husband and I raised our three children, I substitute taught. In addition to being a substitute teacher at Holy Trinity School, I taught third grade full time for a year and a half before becoming one of the kindergarten teachers. While teaching I continue to attend classes and to keep updated on what is happening in education. I enjoy the enthusiasm and the excitement that five and six year olds bring into my classroom!

I have been in education for longer than I can remember, but most recently as a Kindergarten teacher for the last eight years. I am from Cedarburg, Wisconsin and moved to St. Paul to attend the University of St. Thomas. I loved the cities so much that I never left! I finished up my Master’s degree in Education at Hamline University in 2013. Upon knowing me, you will see that my children, former and present are my world. My own experiences in Catholic education have been so memorable that it is a dream to be here at Holy Trinity!

I am a graduate of Saint Mary's University. I have spent my career in Catholic education teaching at Saint Joseph in West Saint Paul and Saint Ambrose in Woodbury before coming to Holy Trinity. My teaching experiences have been in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade. The greatest rewards are seeing the faith alive in these children and seeing them grow as readers, writers, mathematicians, and thinkers. I am proud to be a teacher and parent in this Holy Trinity community.

I’m happy to be returning to Holy Trinity after two years as a stay at home mom! I have thirteen years experience teaching Physical Education in grades K-8. My beginning college experience was at UW-Stout from which I earned my BA-Interior Design. Although I enjoyed the design field, there was always a desire in my heart to be a teacher! It started back in highschool when I was a lifeguard, WSI and group exercise instructor. My teaching passion inspired me to go back to school at the U of MN-Twin Cities to earn my M.ED in Physical Education for preK-12 and D/APE.
I live with my husband and son in Lake Elmo and I continue to teach fitness classes at the Woodbury YMCA and the Travelers Insurance Wellness center in Saint Paul. When I’m not teaching I enjoy spending time with my family outdoors at our cabin doing many recreational activities. We also enjoy going to the playhouse theatre, musical concerts, sports events, and traveling to Florida to visit grandparents.
