Our student buddy program not only helps our younger students feel safe, valued and connected to the school community, but it also makes our older students, the buddies to the kindergartners and primary grades, feel valued, respected: thus, building confidence and a stronger sense of self and responsibility for others.
Buddy activities are ongoing throughout the year and include assisting the kindergartners during weekly Mass, helping the preschoolers and kindergartners with art projects, as well as working with the first and second graders with reading, spelling, and special projects.
Fifth graders begin their responsibilities in the buddy program by accompanying the kindergartners to our weekly school Mass.
Sixth graders pair with the 1st through 3rd graders, and teachers collaborate to bring their classes together to share special projects and activities.
Seventh and eighth graders have kindergartners as their little buddies. They walk with them in our annual Marathon, help them carve pumpkins at Halloween, make gingerbread houses at Christmas time as well as share an end of the year picnic and walk to Dairy Queen.
The Holy Trinity Buddy Program fosters the student service within our school community.
